We’re back in Stockholm to record an appearance on the Sveriges Television music show ‘Drop In’. We’re recording in front of a studio audience at the Narren-teatern, a small theatre in Stockholm’s Gröna Lund amusement park. We arrived for camera rehearsals in the afternoon, before taking lunch at a restaurant in nearby Solliden. We were joined by Mal Evans, Neil Aspinall, producer Klas Burling, presenter Kersti Adams-Ray and a some photographers. John and Paul played a piano in the restaurant. One of the photographers, Bo Trenter, took a number of widely-used shots of us. Back at the Narren-teatern, we performed an acoustic version of our next single for Klas Burling, who says he it will be a hit. Before filming began at 7pm, Paul and I went shopping in Burling’s Fiat car. We went to Stockholm’s largest department store, NK, where bought bought perfume for Jane Asher. We had intended to perform ‘She Loves You’ and ‘Twist And Shout’ on the show, but Klas Burling persuaded us to keep the audience happy and play one more song. We also played ‘I Saw Her Standing There’, after which Kersti Adams-Ray attempted to start up the show’s theme tune. But we weren’t finished. Burling managed to talk us into playing one more song to round off the show. We played ‘Long Tall Sally’, after which we joined in with handclaps for the ‘Drop In’ closing theme. It was quite a show. It will broadcast on Sunday the 3rd.
