Beatles History

January 24, 1963

We made a personal appearance at Brian Epstein’s central Liverpool record store, NEMS, prior to our evening concert in Mold, Wales. We signed copies of our recently-released ‘Please Please Me’ single, and gave a brief acoustic performance at the foot of the store’s staircase. John and George played their acoustic guitars, Paul used his Hofner bass guitar without an amplifier and Ringo had to make do with a solitary snare drum.
